Head of Faculty - Visual Arts (3MU & 1MMA)
Long Bay College is a
co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful location near Long Bay
Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 and has
approximately 1800 students with 160 teaching and support staff combined.
We seek an outstanding leader for
our high performing Faculty of Visual Arts. Our ideal candidate will have
evident strengths as a classroom teacher and curriculum design. They will be a
leader who places high value on knowledge rich approaches and cognitive science
considerate pedagogy with the capability to drive the professional growth of
the wider team individually and collectively.
As a kura we offer Art History,
Design, Painting and Photography pathways with an emphasis on conceptual and
technical development. We place a strong emphasis on high academic achievement
secured by strong collective practice. Our Junior Visual Arts programme
focusses on how to think creatively, analyse art-making methods and apply these
in practice, as the foundation for our senior courses and NZQA Scholarship.

The terms and conditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,027 to $99,216, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
