Long Bay College is a co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful location near Long Bay Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1900 students with 160 teaching and support staff combined.
We seek an outstanding Head of Subject Psychology, working within our Faculty of Social Science. Our ideal candidate will have evident strengths as a classroom teacher and curriculum design. They will be a leader who places high value on knowledge rich approaches and cognitive science considerate pedagogy with the capability to drive the professional growth of the wider team individually and collectively. At Long Bay College, Psychology is a rapidly growing, popular, and well-resourced subject within our faculty. Over the past five years, our programme has grown and matured, and we are now looking for the right person to continue this trajectory. Alongside Psychology, our Social Science Faculty offers a wide range of subjects, including History, Geography, Classical Studies, Sociology, Te Reo Māori and Tourism, alongside our junior programme. We place a strong emphasis on high academic achievement secured by strong collective practice.

The terms and conditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience. An individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
