Marketing and Communications


Long Bay College is seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to support the delivery of purposeful, high‑quality marketing and communications that strengthen the College’s reputation, engagement, and community profile.

This is a senior support staff role, working closely with the Business Manager, Principal, and Senior Leadership Team, with a strong emphasis on advice, coordination, and implementation.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Weeks: 45 weeks per year

Reporting to: Business Manager (working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team)

Flexibility: Some flexibility during school holiday periods, including the ability to work from home by agreement

Remuneration: Support Staff Collective Agreement - Administration Grade 5 (step dependent on experience).

About the role

In this role you will:

  • Deliver day‑to‑day marketing and communications activity that supports the College’s goals, reputation, and community connections.
  • Provide senior‑level advice and practical support on brand positioning, messaging, and communications opportunities.
  • Manage and protect the College’s brand, including logos, templates, sub‑brands, and key messages, ensuring consistent and effective use across all platforms.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement marketing and communications campaigns and advertising activity aligned with enrolment priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Deliver key College publications including e‑newsletters, prospectus, yearbook, and annual report support materials.
  • Manage the College website, social media channels, School App content, and electronic noticeboards.
  • Support major College events with communications, programmes, signage, and media or photography coordination.
  • Support the Principal with media engagement and community messaging, identifying opportunities and potential reputational risks.
  • Provide marketing and communications support to the International Department and alumni engagement initiatives.
  • Encourage and support student involvement in storytelling and content creation where appropriate.

About you

You will bring:

  • A relevant marketing or communications qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using design and publishing tools such as Canva and Adobe products.
  • Confidence using content platforms such as WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • Strong capability with Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Copilot.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, contractors, suppliers, and budgets.
  • Photography skills and confidence using a camera.
  • A professional, well‑organised, and self‑motivated approach, with discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  • A collaborative, student‑focused mindset aligned with the values and culture of Long Bay College.
